Laura Kalbeck was born 1999 in Germany.

She is studying art education at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. In addition, she is giving painting classes and works as an artist. Her focus is on classical figurative painting with oil, which she tries to place in a contemporary context.

The young artist engages with the expression of human faces in her artworks. Playing with facial features, suitable color contrasts, destruction, and construction consistently presents a challenge. As each person creates their own reality, the painting comes to life through the eye of the beholder. Everyone sees something different in the colors, brushstrokes, and emotionally charged facial expressions, based on their own individual background.
